ILC2s are essential for control of helminth infections (Neill et al., 2010; Price et al., 2010) and tissue repair (Palm et al., 2012) and are involved in pathogenesis of asthma and allergy (Ho et al., 2015; Silver et al., 2016; Xiao et al., 2021) by secretion of type 2 cytokines IL-5, IL-9 and IL-13.
