The results of this study indicate that knocking down Nrf1 improves sympathoexcitation and hypertension by reducing PVN transcription of NMDAR subunits (GluN1, GluN2A, and GluN2B), and rebalancing PVN excitatory and inhibitory neurotransmitters, and inhibiting PVN neuronal activity and oxidative stress, and attenuating sympathetic activity. Here, NRF1 is linked to hypertensive disorder.
