In summary, we demonstrated that NFAT2 was activated in renal fibrosis during AKI-to-CKD progression, and the cell-permeable NFAT inhibitor 11R-VIVIT could effectively inhibit NFAT2 activation, reduce RTEC apoptosis, and prevent AKI-to-CKD progression. This evidence concerns the gene NFATC1 and acute kidney injury.
