Intriguingly, although MYC is overexpressed 5 to 400-fold in 70% of colorectal carcinoma (CRC) patients and 4 to 6-fold in 44% of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) patients, genetic amplification of MYC is only detected in 10% and 4% of CRC and HCC patients respectively [7–11]. Here, MYC is linked to colorectal carcinoma.
