MRE11 and esophageal squamous cell carcinoma: Bustos et al. [17] found that the combination of UBQLN4 and ubiquitinated MRE11A induces the degradation of MRE11A by the proteasome, thereby regulating the level of the MRE11A protein after DNA damage and increasing the resistance of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma to cisplatin.
