Jongkhajornpong et al. (34) reported a significant association with HLA-A*33:03 (20 patients, 60 controls; OR = 5.4, p = 0.0030), HLA-B*44:03 (20 patients, 60 controls; OR = 9.0, p = 0.0004), HLA-C*07:01 (20 patients, 60 controls; OR = 9.3, p = 0.0002), and the HLA-B*44:03—HLA-C*07:01 haplotype (20 patients, 60 controls; OR = 9.0, p < 0.001) in Thai patients with acetaminophen-related SJS/TEN with SOC, suggesting that they may have a role in the pathogenesis of SOC in acetaminophen-related SJS/TEN. Here, HLA-A is linked to toxic epidermal necrolysis.
