PLXNA2 and melanoma: Gene Ontology (GO) terms associated with cancer cell biology (‘biological adhesion’, ‘biological regulation’, ‘cellular process’, ‘developmental process’, ‘localization’, ‘locomotion’, ‘multicellular organismal process’, ‘response to stimulus’ and ‘signaling’) were used to identify six genes matched to selected criteria, namely ITGBL1, NOV, PLXNC1, ITGB3, ITGB8 and PLXNA2. Subsequently, ITGB8 and PLXNA2 were chosen as those most likely to be involved in the regulation of melanoma cell migration and invasion, as indicated in (22–24).
