One meta-analysis [34] showed a significant association between hs-CRP and the development of hypertension (relative risk [RR] = 1.72, 95% CI: 1.38–2.07), as observed in a US population-based study, but not in Asian populations (RR = 1.03, 95% CI: 0.95–1.12). This evidence concerns the gene CRP and hypertensive disorder.
