CRP and Hypertension: Cross-sectional analysis of CRP with relevant covariates found that CRP group correlated most strongly with WC, baseline BP, age, and TG, while univariate analysis of baseline covariates with incidence of hypertension found that baseline BP, age, and WC contributed more to the risk of incident hypertension: systolic BP (R2 = 0.076), age (R2 = 0.063), diastolic BP (R2 = 0.052), WC (R2 = 0.039), and BMI (R2 = 0.024).
