Different indicators of tumor-NK cell interaction were used: (i) NK cell-induced apoptosis of tumor cells, (ii) an elevated level of inflammatory chemokines [interleukin-8 (IL-8)] and cytokines [interferon-γ (IFN-γ), tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), granulocyte-macrophage colony-stimulating factor (GM-CSF)], produced by TuMTs and NK cells, and (iii) invasion of NK cells into the TuMT volume (Figure 1B). The gene discussed is CXCL8; the disease is neoplasm.
