Different strategies are considered in clinical trials using NK cells for cancer therapies, including utilizing an agonist to NK cell activation receptors (mABs; transtuzumab, rituximab, etc., + IL-2 and anti PD1) or by blocking NK cells inhibitory receptor signals with mABs to KIR (NKG2A-CD94 or with CTLA-4 and PD-1 checkpoint inhibitor) (13). The gene discussed is PDCD1; the disease is cancer.
