In view of the fact that LMPs are important functional units of the lysosome [17] and lysosomal dysfunction is one of the common pathogenic factors of many chronic kidney diseases (CDKs) (refs. [4, 29]), we have carried out related investigations on lysosomes after Sidt2 deletion and found that the number of acidic lysosomes decreased and the pH of the lysosomes increased in vitro. The gene discussed is SIDT2; the disease is chronic kidney disease.
