The least square means of serum S14 level in mild and moderate to severe NAFLD groups after adjusting confounding factors (age, sex, obesity, HOMA-IR, CRP, metabolic syndrome, exercise time, menopause, smoking behavior) were significantly higher than the control group (adjusted means ± SE: 102.06 ± 2.81, 102.16 ± 4.56 vs. 86.67 ± 3.09; 95% CI 95.53–107.59, 93.21–111.11 vs. 80.60–92.74, respectively.
