Waist circumference, BMI, insulin, HOMA-IR (homeostasis Model Assessment for Insulin Resistance), ALT (Alanine aminotransferase), triglycerides, lower HDL-C (high-density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol), trunk fat percentage, VFR (visceral fat rating), MetS (metabolic syndrome) were comparatively more abnormal or prevalent in NAFLD patients than control group in both non-obese (BMI < 24) and overweight/obese group (BMI ≥ 24). Here, INS is linked to metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease.
