INS and Hyperglycemia: Son et al. (2011) showed that oryzanol could control insulin production to maintain glucose homeostasis, correct liver enzymes’ activity, and decrease the risk of hyperglycemia associated with a high-fat diet. A diet intervention supplemented with 0.160% oryzanol and 0.05% ferulic acid alleviated hyperglycemia developed in a group of rats for 13 weeks utilizing a high-fat, high-fructose diet (HFFD) (Wang et al., 2015).
