Drost and his coworkers found that quadruple mutants (APC, TP53, KRAS, and SMAD4) showed invasive carcinoma growth and a bigger size in immunodeficient mice in comparison to triple mutants (APC, TP53, KRAS) that engrafted, but remained small (Drost et al., 2015).
