The increasing clinical use of approved antibodies against programmed cell death protein 1 (PD-1) (pembrolizumab, nivolumab, and cemiplimab), programmed death-ligand 1 (PD-L1) (avelumab, atezolizumab, and durvalumab), and cytotoxic T-lymphocyte-associated antigen 4 (CTLA-4) (ipilimumab) has changed the paradigm of cancer treatment (Ackermann et al., 2020).
