We randomly selected six TB-naive RMs, six with asymptomatic LTBI after 9 to 12 weeks of exposure to a low dose of M. tuberculosis, and an equal number that developed active TB after exposure to a high dose of M. tuberculosis, as shown by serum C-reactive protein (CRP) (Fig. 1A), chest X-ray (CXR) score (Fig. 1B), lung M. tuberculosis burden (Fig. 1C), and pathology (Fig. 1D). This evidence concerns the gene CRP and tuberculosis.
