A recent study showed that endometriotic PF increased the recruitment of FoxP3-Tregs in the peritoneal microenvironment (19) We observed an induction of FoxP3 levels in ovarian cells treated with endometriotic PF, thus, it is plausible that though it is an important component of Treg cells and essential in immune homeostasis, it may also enable cancer cells to escape T cell responses thus resulting in tumor progression and poor prognosis. Here, FOXP3 is linked to neoplasm.
