The upregulation of the phosphorylation of Tyr705 in STAT3 is frequently detected in human colon cancers (25, 26) and can induce upregulation of anti-apoptotic protein such as Bcl-2, Bcl-xL, and Mcl1 expressions to prevent apoptosis of tumor cells in multiple tumors (24, 30–32). The gene discussed is STAT3; the disease is colonic neoplasm.
