In clinical, apart from exogenous insulin supplements, different types of oral hypoglycemic drugs such as biguanides, insulin secretagogues, insulin sensitizers, a-glucosidase inhibitors, glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonists, dipeptidyl peptidase-4 inhibitors, and sodium-glucose cotransporter-2 inhibitors are currently used as the main therapeutic strategy for T2DM [5, 6], whereas the undesirable adverse effects including gastrointestinal discomfort, increasing cardiovascular events, heart failure, and weight gain always accompany with these synthetic drugs [4, 7]. Here, INS is linked to type 2 diabetes mellitus.
