These mutations lie within the RAD51-binding domain (RAD51-BD) of the BRCA2 gene; ovarian cancer patients harboring mutations located at the RAD51-BD (exon 11) of the BRCA2 gene have prolonged survival compared to mutations occurring at other locations of the BRCA2 gene or to noncarriers [25].
