METTL3 and hereditary clear cell renal cell carcinoma: In several studies, METTL3 has also been found to possess the ability to suppress tumour progression, demonstrated by the higher expression of METTL3 in non-tumour tissues (vs. cancerous tissues) of renal cell carcinoma (RCC) and by the stronger proliferation in mutant METTL3 (vs. wild METTL3) of bladder cancer cells [84–86].
