At 14 dpi, numbers of Foxp3+ regulatory T cells (p = 0.018, Fig. 5a) and Foxp3 mRNA copy numbers (p = 0.009, Fig. 5b), determined by immunohistochemistry and RT-qPCR, respectively, were significantly increased in brain samples of mice with intact DCIR signalling (WT mice) compared to DCIR−/− mice upon infection. The gene discussed is FOXP3; the disease is infection.
