Furthermore, our examination of m6A and m6Am profiles in HFD and ob/ob mice, uncover the dynamic role of the m6Am modification in regulating obesity, showing clear metabolic involvement of altered methylated genes, including two fatty acid-binding proteins Fabp2, Fabp5. In addition, we identify that FTO is overexpressed in fat mice, and importantly downregulates its m6Am gene targets. Here, FTO is linked to obesity disorder.
