In addition, an increasing body of evidence demonstrates that TLR4 involved in the development of LPS‐induced SA‐AKI and TLR4 inhibition (TLR4 inhibitor TAK‐242 or TLR4 gene knockout) reduces inflammatory response and cellular damage, improves glomerular filtration rate and urine output, and further decreases endotoxaemia‐associated mortality in the animal models of LPS‐induced SA‐AKI.23, 24. This evidence concerns the gene TLR4 and acute kidney injury.
