Although various articles have examined the roles of SIRT1 in suppressing the promotion of autoimmune diseases, many studies described in this review support the hypothesis that SIRT1 represents a possible biomarker of relapses and a potential target for therapeutic intervention in multiple Ads, including SLE, RA, IBD, MS, regardless of whether it functions as an activator or inhibitor.
