Preoperatively elevated serum C-reactive protein (CRP) level was identified as a risk factor for poor survival in several tumour entities25–30 including surgically resected pancreatic cancer patients31–34 and was consequently shown to affect progression in gastroenteropancreatic (GEP-) NEN in general35 as well as in pNEN36. This evidence concerns the gene CRP and pancreatic neoplasm.
