Among 48 patients, nine (19%) were found to carry heterozygous pathogenic (P) or likely pathogenic (LP) germline alterations in eight cancer predisposition genes (CPGs): TP53, MUTYH, BLM, RET, ERCC6, MITF, BRIP1, and MSH2 (Table 2). The gene discussed is ERCC6; the disease is cancer.
