New anti-HER2 antibody–drug conjugates (ADC), which combine an anti-HER2 antibody and a cytotoxic agent, seem to be effective in some HER2-low tumors; for instance, trastuzumab deruxtecan, a new anti-HER2 ADC that combines trastuzumab and a topoisomerase 1 inhibitor, showed promising results in heavily pretreated patients with metastatic HER2-low breast cancer (HER 1+/2+) [13]. This evidence concerns the gene ERBB2 and breast carcinoma.
