Several clinical trials are currently assessing the predictive value of immune checkpoint inhibitors in dMMR/MSI-H, high tumor mutational burden, or PD-L1-positive CRC patients in early-stage settings, some in phase III (NCT02912559, NCT03827044, NCT04304209, NCT04928807) and several more in phase II, given the encouraging results by Chalabi and colleagues [89]. The gene discussed is CD274; the disease is colorectal carcinoma.
