Recently, it was reported that nasal-associated lymphoid tissue is the major induction site for nephritogenic IgA in murine IgA nephropathy (ddY mice) [26], indicating that P. gingivalis infection in tonsils in humans might work as the major induction site in IgAN patients because murine nasal-associated lymphoid tissue can work as lymphoid reaction in human tonsil. This evidence concerns the gene CD79A and IgA glomerulonephritis.
