Endogenous neurotoxins cause neurodegenerative diseases by affecting neuronal transmissions [6] that may be associated with blocking ion channels (e.g., K+, Ca2+, Na+) and receptors of ion channels of neurotransmitters (e.g., acetylcholine receptors), and inhibiting enzymatic activity (e.g., tyrosine hydroxylase (TH)) [7].
