In the phase III COMBI-AD trial, 870 patients with stage IIIA (lymph-node metastasis > 1 mm), B and C (AJCC 7th edition [42]) with proven BRAF mutation (either V600E or V600K) were randomized to receive either treatment with the two oral drugs or placebo. The gene discussed is BRAF; the disease is metastatic malignant neoplasm in the lymph nodes.
