Subsequently, that same group applied the HM450 platform to identify differential methylation between normal and CIN3 tissues (and no cervical cancer) which yielded 12 candidate markers which were then narrowed down to a 3-gene classifier (ASCL1, LHX8 and ST6GALNAC5) for the detection of CIN3 in high-risk HPV+ self-samples [18].
