P3H1 catalyzes the posttranslational formation of 3-hydroxyproline at -Xaa-Pro-Gly- sequences in collagens, especially types IV and V. P3H1 was identified as a risk factor for hepatocellular carcinoma by bioinformatics analysis, which also indicated that this protein activates the PI3K/AKT signaling pathway to promote the development of osteosarcoma [46, 47]. This evidence concerns the gene P3H1 and hepatocellular carcinoma.
