Accordingly, HLA haplotype analyses revealed that the haplotype DQA1*01:02-DQB1*06:04 was significantly associated with asthma protection (meta-analysis p = 4.71 × 10–4, OR[95% CI] = 0.47[0.29–0.73]) after setting a Bonferroni threshold at p = 2.17 × 10–3 (based on the 23 DQA1-DQB1 haplotypes tested, Table 4). Here, HLA-DQA1 is linked to asthma.
