In nasopharyngeal cancer, it has been discovered that four RP genes uS8 (S8), uS4 (S9), eS31 (S27a) and uL14 (L23) are down-regulated in cancer cell lines suggesting that these RPs could serve as biomarkers in the carcinogenesis of nasopharyngeal cancer [138]. This evidence concerns the gene RPS15A and nasopharyngeal carcinoma.
