CD4 and HIV-1 infection: As expected, the findings obtained from the data highlight the need to start cART as soon as possible after the establishment of HIV-1 infection and diagnosis confirmation, as the expression levels of most miRNAs indicated that a late cART establishment might be related to a larger HIV-1 reservoir size in latent CD4 + T cells, which may last during the lifetime of the patients, thus minimizing the possibilities of total virus eradication even in light of potential effective treatments in the near future.
