INS and Stroke: VAI was stubbornly shown to be a significant predictor of the primary endpoint in various subgroups stratified by age (≥ 65 or <65 years), gender (female or male), BMI (≥ 28 or <28 kg/m2), smoking history (yes or no), hypertension (yes or no), previous history of MI, PCI and stroke (yes or no), diagnosis (NSTEMI or UA), LDL-C (≥ 1.8 or <1.8 mmol/L), HbA1c (≥ 7.0 or <7.0%), and treatment at admission including statins, OAD, and insulin (yes or no) (all p for interaction > 0.05, Figure 3).
