Among the upregulated genes in HFHS-fed mice, we observed Shisa5, which encodes an endoplasmic reticulum protein involved in the apoptotic process (+1.5-fold; FDR = 0.029) and Slamf7, involved in cell-cell interactions by modulating the activation and differentiation of a wide variety of immune cells and in response to anti-TNF therapy in IBD (24, 25) (+1.6-fold; FDR = 0.046). This evidence concerns the gene TNF and inflammatory bowel disease.
