CD4 and infection: The overall reduction of cytokines and chemokines in the TC especially in mice that received CD4+ T cells from L. sigmodontis-infected donors confirms the previous findings that adult worms were eliminated in the TC of the RAG2IL-2Rγ-deficient mice (Figures 5, 6) leading also to reduced infiltration and accumulation of immune cells at the site of infection on day 72 p.i. Indeed, the overall cell numbers in the TC were reduced in RAG2IL-2Rγ-deficient mice that were transferred with CD4+ T cells derived from L. sigmodontis-infected C57BL/6 donor mice (Figure 7E).
