Tau-associated inclusions are not an exclusive feature of AD and similar depositions can be found in other neurodegenerative disorders such as Pick’s disease (PiD), chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE), corticobasal degeneration (CBD), progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP), argyrophilic grain disease (AGD) and globular glial tauopathy (GGT), among others (Crowther and Goedert, 2000; Ghetti et al., 2015). The gene discussed is MAPT; the disease is argyrophilic grain disease.
