Of the sarcopenia‐associated dmCpGs that were associated with a gene, cg22843429 was located within the EMG1 gene, an N1‐specific pseudouridine methyltransferase involved in ribosome biogenesis, while cg10977501 was located within MYOM2 (Myomesin 2), a major component of the myofibrillar M‐band of the sarcomere, suggesting that differential methylation at these sites may contribute to the impairments in muscle function during ageing. This evidence concerns the gene MYOM2 and sarcopenia.
