AGER and acute respiratory distress syndrome: A previous study systematically reviewed the relationship between plasma biomarkers and ARDS onset and found that levels of Krebs von den Lungen‐6 (KL-6), lactate dehydrogenase (LDH), the soluble receptor for advanced glycation end products (RAGE), and von Willebrand factor (vWF) were significantly correlated with ARDS incidence [11]; however, the study did not investigate the inflammatory factors present in the pulmonary edema fluid, and conclusions were based on a relatively small number of studies for each inflammatory factor.
