Unexpectedly, when comparing patients to healthy controls this unbiased proteomics analysis revealed the strongest COVID-19-related influence on the total amount of integrin αIIb (ITGA2B; CD41; spot 413: FC = 0.72, p = 3.32−8) part of the platelet integrin αIIbβ3 complex, which was highly significantly decreased (Figure 2, Table 3). Here, ITGA2B is linked to COVID-19.
