Importantly, while upregulation of MYC by E2F1 was reported in other cancer types (52, 53), our findings deeply uncovered a critical role for E2F1 in regulating MYC expression in PCa providing a new perspective for exploring the crosstalk between E2F1 and MYC that function as two regulators in G1/S transition and tumor cell growth. This evidence concerns the gene E2F1 and posterior cortical atrophy.
