They did not measure changes in macrophage (CD68), natural killer cell (CD56), cytotoxic T cell (CD8), regulatory T cell (FOXP3) or programmed cell death protein 1 (PD-1) expressing immune cell populations and were therefore not able to make firm conclusions as to the impact of obesity and weight loss on the endometrial immune microenvironment. Here, CD68 is linked to obesity due to melanocortin 4 receptor deficiency.
