Among subjects, PCOS women were younger and characterized by significantly (P < 0.05) longer menstrual cycle, higher antral follicle count (AFC), serum luteinizing hormone (LH)/follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) ratio, total testosterone (TT), and estradiol (E2) levels on the third day of menstrual cycle. This evidence concerns the gene PLOD1 and polycystic ovary syndrome.
