BC can be molecularly divided into three different subtypes, namely tumors with an overexpression of the estrogen receptor (ER+), which can concomitantly increase the progesterone receptor (PR); tumors with amplification on the HER2 (human epidermal growth factor receptor 2) gene; and tumors that lack the three above mentioned markers and are classified as Triple Negative Breast Cancer (TNBC). This evidence concerns the gene PGR and triple-negative breast carcinoma.
