In conclusion, this large cohort study has shown that the apoB/apoA-1 ratio, which reflects the balance between atherogenic and athero-protective lipids, is a strong and graded long-term CV risk marker of MACE and its sub-components MI, stroke, and CV mortality, as well as coronary interventions, in both men and women of a wide age range. The gene discussed is APOA1; the disease is stroke disorder.
