Post infarction left ventricular (LV) dysfunction is characterized by progressive LV dilatation and hypertrophy as well as wall thinning in the infarcted tissue .24,25 Progressive LV dysfunction and larger infarct size are associated with poor prognosis in ACS patients .25 We found that IGF-1 does not independently predict myocardial infarct size and LV dysfunction. This evidence concerns the gene IGF1 and Vascular dilatation.
